Appointments

All surgeries are run on an appointment basis. Our Care Navigation and/or Clinical Team will triage your request and may ask further questions or direct you to a more appropriate service and determine how urgent your problem is.

Urgent appointments

If you feel your health problem needs an on the day appointment, please use the form below which will be available between 8am and 10am Monday to Friday.

If your request is not deemed urgent and requiring an on the day appointment, you will be directed to our routine request form.

A request for an on the day appointment does not automatically mean your issue will be dealt with on the day as this is based on clinical need.

We aim to respond to on the day online requests within 4 hours.

If you do not have access to the internet or want to request an on the day appointment after 10am you can do so by:

  • calling the surgery on 0161 871 2450 or;
  • attending the surgery in person and speaking to our receptionists

Pharmacy First

Pharmacy First enables community pharmacists to supply prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics and antivirals where clinically appropriate, to treat seven common health conditions without the need to visit a GP. You can get treatment for these conditions by walking into the pharmacy or contacting them virtually. GP receptionists, NHS 111 and providers of emergency care will also be able to direct patients to pharmacies, that offer the service, if contacted.

What are the seven common conditions?

  • Sinusitis
  • Sore throat
  • Earache
  • Infected insect bite
  • Impetigo (a bacterial skin infection)
  • Shingles
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

We ask all patients to come to the surgery wherever possible, mainly because we are better equipped to investigate and treat your condition at the surgery. Additionally, we can see three patients in the surgery in the time it takes to see one patient at home.

If you need to be visited at home please telephone the surgery before 11am. The receptionist will ask you for details about the nature of the situation so the doctor can assess priorities. The doctor may telephone you prior to visiting, and may decide a visit is not needed.
