We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
The nurses in this clinic will check your blood levels and blood pressure and give lifestyle advice as necessary to help in the detection and management of this widespread condition.
Diabetic clinic
Our nurses will advise on the management, lifestyle and diet of all diabetics. Annual review appointments are made through reception for a fasting blood test and then a week later a diabetic review with the practice nurse. We also have appointments available on a Thursday morning with a diabetes podiatrist.
Respiratory review clinic
This clinic is for patients of all ages who have asthma or COPD. The nurse will advise on inhaler technique, preventing problems and medication.
Cervical screening
The nurse can advise about breast examinations, teach you how to be ‘breast aware’ and carry out smears on symptom-free women, but if you feel you have symptoms which might need investigation, it is better to make an appointment with the doctor. Ladies who are due a routine smear will be invited to make an appointment in the nurses’ clinic.
Flu and pneumococcal vaccination
In the autumn we run a vaccination clinic for all those entitled to a free flu/pneumonia jab (currently patients aged 65 or over, patients with chronic diseases and carers).
Children’s vaccinations and immunisations
These routine procedures are carried out on Monday mornings. Appointments will be sent from the health authority.
Smoking cessation
Surgery clinic, Thursday morning at 9am to 12.30pm. Appointment only, book at reception.
